The Firefox landingpage was painfully slow – the download button didn’t appear for 7 seconds!

Hypothesis

 Making the landing page load faster will increase the number of downloads.

Results

To make page faster the team combined (or removed) JavaScript files and inlined the CSS.
The optimized experimental variation shaved 2.2 seconds off the average page load time and increased download conversions by 15.4%!

Learnings

If you still did not realize it: page load speed should be taken seriously as it can have major impact.
Note that the initiale page was really slow.
